Canon doesn't have that problem. Stay away from the P500.I use a Canon SX20IS and ITS better than the Nikon P500 in? my opinion.One more added bonus is CHDK which is exclusively for Canon cams. Only negative so far (haven't tested everything yet) is that the battery (whilst lasting a long time) does seem to run out of power whilst still showing as though it has full power.
