Flags of Our Fathers: Attack on Mount Suribachi
Posted by: mitrooper
Video duration: 32 seconds
A Short clip of Clint Eastwood's
movie "Flags of Our Fathers".
In this scene, American marines rush a heavily defended Mount Suribachi.
This is my favorite shot of the movie.
I included some great music by John Powell for added drama.

It is mentioned partly in the book/novels,? but those were not the original sources for the plasma weapons, I think it was one of those articles that were written by James Cameron and his cowriters published during/post Terminator 1 and Terminator 2.

oh yeah you are right because? I though the year that plasma manufactured changed since t3 came out.
By: gamessomanygames. on 24 May 12, 02:14:25
did this? come from the book ?

there's IS going to be another Terminator? movie and THIS is the EXACT kind of ACTION it will have, to the point when the Terminator & Kyle Reese are sent back to 1984.

ah that explains.. i? still didnt like them but thats me

not necessarily differnt looking HKs, they were actually different types. Back when eterminator was back online, it explained? that the aerial HKs in T3 were actually HEAVY assault aerial HK compared to the standard ones in T1/T2 as they were much larger, more weaponry and .were also transports
By: KiraXBara456. on 23 May 12, 01:20:49
I am right. That was the original story plot behind plasma weaponry WAY before Terminator Salvation came in, with the 2 rival companies WestingHouse and general dynamics being the ones to produce said weapons before they were destroyed in judgment day, so therefore no, humans didn't reverse engineer plasma, they developed it and Skynet? used that research in it's own weaponry

But than again? you might be right.
By: gamessomanygames. on 22 May 12, 22:47:53
judgment day happened in 1999 because when I saw t2 sarah gave an intro on when the nuclear? bombs fell.
By: KiraXBara456. on 22 May 12, 22:03:27
In the original continuity, plasma weaponry was already in prototype stages in 1997? and that was how humans fought back machines at first, by raiding former military bases and warehouses that were abandoned post judgment day. The lack of plasma weaponry was one of the reasons Termintor Salvation was sticking like a sour thumb.

thanks for telling me :) ?

In the first two movies, judgement day happens in 1996, in the third? it happens in 2003. Meaning that the efforts of John and Sarah were for but a few more years of civilization. The story was still the same. Skynet was activated by NORAD after giving it control of all military hardware and nuclear controls, Skynet attacks Russian targets, trigging a nuclear war. In some of the books, it describes the plasma weaponry being reversed engineers by humans some time in the 2020's.

I miss these? movies..T3/4 were a joke. T1/2 were emotional, epic, awesome.. instilled a sense of hopelessness and grit that the other movies didn't convey. Bring James Cameron back!
By: gamessomanygames. on 21 May 12, 22:01:04
Agreed and James cameron said he might be back to do T5 , so possibly? we might see the return of ariel hk's with their former weapons attached ( miniplasmagun) and ground hk's . Not to mention with James Cameron back we'll actually be back in the city fighting the terminators like it should be.
By: RepaleoN. on 21 May 12, 17:25:24
yeah its possible skynet made plasma weapons and then the humans stole them.. if T5 ever comes out they should show that or explain how the plasma weapons came to be.. but i want to hear what James Camerons idea was and not some new director.. but yeah if T5 doesnt have plasma its a big fuck you to the audience.. like? T4.. some stupid HK firing a fireball.. and not to mention there aim was like in the A TEAM..
By: gamessomanygames. on 20 May 12, 19:51:04
But I think plasma fire in 2018 wasn't yet manufactured by skynet till some where in the year 2020s . So when t5 comes out , hopefully we might see? plasma and ground hk on the move.

terminator 3 was set in an alternative future where cyberdyne never made skynet and automatically made crs create skynet. If you saw the scene where arnold was in the trailer , he said he was? selected for the assassination mission due to John connors boyhood experiences. Meaning John knew the future was gonna happen by a different military company. In my opnion t3 was fair but t1 and t2 were 100% better than that. I agree with your opnion because I was also expecting plasma rifles .

'Of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these: It might have been.' Jim, forget the CGI Avatar lovefest? and get back to your roots. Don't become George Lucas.
By: WraithX2. on 17 May 12, 11:18:52
Actually, I think, at first, SkyNet was using bullet based weaponry since it? was more practical for it to use on humans, and why need to build a weapon that can level the playing field in the human's favor. That is, until the rise of reprogrammed drones. Skynet then was forced to employ plasma weaponry since some of the reprogrammed drones were set to read-write, which would allow it to actually learn from its experiences, thus allowing it to easily dispatch Skynet's normal drones.

Spot on? mate.
By: RepaleoN. on 15 May 12, 19:33:39
just imagine when actors or stuntman drive a car, if they made that CGI that would suck.. but also i they wouldn be driving trough a CGI world and the Car just stands still.. like i said? only background but not the set as CGI
By: RepaleoN. on 15 May 12, 19:31:19
nah im glad? these movies where done with models.. i wouldnt mind CGI but only as the background.. but there should still be models and even some real size models would be awesome..
By: RepaleoN. on 15 May 12, 19:25:37
yeah after terminator 2, humans would have started developing plasma weapons and then judgement day happened.. before judgement day they would already have the plasma weapons like you said.. because they couldnt made them after? judgement day.. terminator salvation makes no sense.. and neither does terminator 3, because also no plasma weapons there and the obviously different looking HK`s..
