Sonic Youth has been around over 30 years, always done what the hell they want to do with their music with NO compromise. Their lyrics may not be about the angst they feel inside because daddy beat them, but they have? a more punk attitude than just about any band ever. Punk today is so dumbed down and mainstream if you say they aren't punk that's fine with me. Green Day and Blink 182 aren't punk either yet they are labeled as such.
