3ds Max + krakatoa 1 million particles by complete noob

Extended version of my first try with krakatoa and 3ds max 2012. Render time was roughly 1.5 hour on a Windows XP 32 bit machine with only 2gb RAM and an old 8800gt graphics card.
Slight wind, and then a vortex starts part way through. One or two lights, can't remember exactly. Camera work is key framed, sloppily...
I suck and am a total noob.
