Sorry to say that my friends were supposed to be in Japan on March 19th 2011 (Saturday) but of course we had the earthquake, tsunami etc. They wanted me to buy tickets for the Pillows concert in Shibuya ???March 29th 2011 Tuesday ????concert.

Well, my good ole friend Mike had a Japanese styled house built way up on a hill...a few minutes walk to the infamous "Big Buddha" in Kamakura...actually get off the train in Hase.
This is a local haunt a few minutes walk from my house. A nice local family run "izakaya" which is basically a Japanese styled restaurant. some sashimi, fish, veggies, noodles etc. excellent taste, fresh and friendly customers. sorry about the bopping camera walking in....
Ada (A Chinese American) from NYC and Yuko and I take a walk up through the shops on Enoshima Island...a nice spring day...a maze of shops (somewhat pricey)
but a nice time...

Yes, got into Bangkok Dec. 24th 2009 at 11:30PM by the time checked thru Immigration and getting to Khaosan Road it was about 2:00AM. got a cheap guesthouse. threw my knapsack in the room, changed into shorts and went out and had a few drinks. this must be about 2:00 in the morning. who gets tired when traveling!

A music (folk, Blues, Reggae, Electronic (ambient), ethnic food and art festival in Kujira Yamashita Park near Higashi Koganei Station. Nice people, great food. Good vibes. Usually held on the weekend around Nov. 3rd but this year it was held one week later. Sorry I got there late. The light wasn't good. A bit bouncy at times. But, a fun time.
A warm Tuesday afternoon. Not so crowded a beautiful day. I was somewhat surprised that the drinking of alcohol in the park was not permitted anymore. Usually Japan known for their sake, beer and sho-chu drinking at festivals.
From a top the Mori Building in Tokyo (Roppongi) on a warm November 2nd 2008 night. If you look left of the highway lights way out in the back ground you can see Mt. Fuji. We are looking west.
The traditional method of intricate tying of rope/twine to put together a large kite. You can see the design and kanji. Held together also with bamboo poles. It takes over 75 people to get this up and flying. Sagami River Kite Festival 2010

There is a huge kite festival every Golden Week on the Sagami River. Some kites are 28 meters in length. I was unlucky because I couldn't catch them in the air.
There are also food stalls...dance and Taiko (Japanese Traditional) drumming as well.
