2. Look at Siberianchan's comment. I am scared of blood and violence and even me, I didn't even look away at that scene. Normally I would, trust me. 5. Yea I know. But Sherlock and Watson in New York City, in the 21st century... it? just sounds wrong, doesn't it?
By: nugagim. on 26 May 12, 08:03:16
1.Well you've seen the original text & had? it explained to you now 2.Yes flinched a bit, she didn't scream & throw up or something. Yes the sight was different, hence instead of 'recoiling in horror' she just turned her head & look a bit disgusted 5.Well there's more difference between modern London & London of the 1800's than between modern London & New York, & that didn't hurt Sherlock. Also in a sense 21stC America is the equivilent of 19thC Britain, in terms of being the major world power

Seriously. Did people lose their shit when Disney made a version of Sherlock Holmes? with mice?
By: Piniporisleet. on 26 May 12, 07:45:49
1. No? 2. Flinched a bit? The sight was different. In the Sign of the Four it? was much worse than this. And she's a surgeon, so she's supposed to get used to it. 5. I don't know. It's just different, London and New York City. London is much calmer but more mysterious, and New York City seems a bit too modern to me. It's just not the same.
By: nugagim. on 26 May 12, 07:41:51
1.Then you should've known what the? proof was. 2.Not really, if you don't expect to see a brutally murdered woman. No shame in that, & by contrast she didn't 'recoil in horror', she just flinched a bit. 5.Nothing wrong with that. it's an adaption, Holmes himself quite liked America from memory, had a friend in the New York Police Department, said it was always a joy to meet an American, & even thought one day the world would be united under a joint Union Jack & American flag.
By: Piniporisleet. on 26 May 12, 07:11:00
1. I read them all, if you mean the books. And the short stories. 2. The unexpected corpse in the Sign of the Four was a grotesque dead body hanged with a hippocrates smile, if my memory is right. This is a body with a lot of blood. The difference is big. 3. Okay... 4.? Over 200 then. I said 72 or more. 5. I'm not worrying. It makes it seem more "American" though.

So far, I really do not like Jonny Lee Miller's? Holmes. Honestly. I really don't so far. And I really don't know about Joan. I love Lucy Liu...but...I dunno. I hope they make her as strong as her male counterpart.

haha thank you, I'm glad you know what I'm talking about! Yup I do, but? it's a diffrent url than my username here
By: nothingpersonalhomie. on 26 May 12, 05:24:34
Hey sweetheart you do realized this is a completely different take on the show? Therefore characters have differences..If the characters were all the same you'd most likely bitch and complain that they were just copying. If everyone had the same sexual orientation, gender, etc.. as BBC's Sherlock you'd flip shit. So obviously you cannot be pleased. Is it really logically to be so butthurt because in your mind? BBC's Sherlock is the only "right" way to do it? This is coming from a Sherlock fan...
By: nugagim. on 26 May 12, 05:13:58
I've said it before but Watson 'recoils in horror' from an unexpected corpse in Sign of the Four, being a doctor doesn't mean you'd be unaffected by unexpectedly being confronted by? a brutally murdered woman. Plus the scene cuts, we don't see anymore of her reaction to it, for all? you know she's bending over it in the next bit pointing things out for Sherlock. It's not like she screams and throws up.
By: marieldoesntrhyme. on 26 May 12, 05:02:35
i'd like to keep in mind the possibility that since she accidentally killed a patient on the table? that she'd be a bit traumatized by the experience.

Mum always told me that if I have nothing nice to say,? I shouldn't say anything at all. Therefore my mouth is shut.
By: clubpenguin1239. on 26 May 12, 04:46:46
And Sherlock is not an otter, Lestrade is not a? ferret, Jawn is not a hedgehog :/ it's not the same. BBC Sherlock is WAY better
By: clubpenguin1239. on 26 May 12, 04:35:19
OH GOD I? BLOODY LOVE YOU! since you know about Jawn being a hedgehog, you have a tumblr then?
By: clubpenguin1239. on 26 May 12, 04:32:19
I don't like this. As much of how I love Sherlock, I don't like it. IN THIS SHOW JAWN? IS A GIRL!? WTF NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! THIS IS SO WRONG! They make Sherlock STRAIGHT HERE! I don't like it. Sherlock/John, boy and boy always. I like BBC Sherlock, Forever. Steven and Mark are brilliant, like how they made it modern and everything and epic trolls. BBC wins, always.oh and the guy in 2:00 I bet that's Anderson. and there acting is a bit Rubbish the BBC Sherlock cast did a better job, sorry..

A? doctor gasps at the sight of a body? Cmon..
By: jazzinstinct. on 26 May 12, 04:15:26
I'm not sure about this. I was against BBC Sherlock stingy number of episodes, but neither I can see? 24 cases for a season milked out.
By: nugagim. on 26 May 12, 03:26:01
BBC Sherlock was born of the success of Sherlock? Holmes in general, does that make it any less good in it's own right? This isn't the first time CBS have adapted Holmes and put him in the modern day, they did it in the 80s and again in the 90s. Both times with a female companion too, in the first she was Jane Watson. It's actually pretty good, I just re-watched it recently and it? stands up surprisingly well.

By: twoframesoutofstep. on 26 May 12, 03:19:25
when I first heard? about this show I thought they were joking...sadly not. Say what you want but we all know this has been born from the success of the BBC Sherlock.
