I baked the head, hands, arms, legs and feet all at the same temp. approx. 260 degrees...any hotter (say 300) and you will run the risk of 'over-baking' and burning the clay. ...and cooler and the clay will not throughly bake and fix. I always remove the object being baked from the oven when finished...I never leave it? in the oven until cooled...you over bake when you do that...clay can become brittle. I have? a really ... As they are just 'small' segments...much is left out and probably one think that was accidentely left out was the fact that I always 'Bake' the sculpey Head before applying my color and or paint. The most important thing to remember...get your sculpt as SMOOTH as possible before baking...that includes the eyes and overall surface of the skin...makes it soooo much easier to paint when baked.
