The UC system (and these students) won't make a dent in the problem by punishing the ppl who threw the 'racist' party.? The UC admission criteria and the meritocracy it promotes keeps numbers of blacks and latinos low at the schools, meanwhile those that DO make it in are marginalized and represented in poor niggerish/jiggaboo effigy by whites and asians... and in the case of 'jibbaboo jones', even blacks.

It's not that they're afraid for their lives, they're afraid how others preceive them, especially those they have to go to school with or live among for their college years. If the racial stereotyping and problems continue without being addresses, it gives off a sense that it's okay to be stereotypical or mock a person's lifestyle/culture. A safe? place provides issues like this to be dialouged, to educate others.

La Jolla in general was? a culture shock for me too. When these students say they feel 'unsafe', I take it that they're actually fearing for their lives. THAT I don't understand. The students feel unsafe because of the recent surges of racial discrimination and stereotyping. A lot of underrepresented students come from communities where they felt accepted and things like this never happened & when being brought to a University, where their community only represents 1.6% of the population, it's a culture shock, it's insecurity of how other students (not all) view them as,? as stereotypes which need to be broken.

Actually the majority of students on? campus are of Asian descent. However, yes, African American students are very underrepresented. But by blanket statementing white people as racist, you are not only being seriously offensive, but racist yourself. You should probably get your facts straight before you generalize.
