Well maybe but at? least I can appreciate good music..
By: joethulhuz. on 28 Jan 12, 16:28:34
Well, you've convinced? me. You're insane.
By: joethulhuz. on 22 Jan 12, 20:30:42
Don't try to run away from this, because you know you can't possibly? win. I'd rebuked every single argument you've come up with, and you can't rebuke mine. You just substitute new ones. And by the way - in case your fragile twelve year-old brain can't take it - rebuke means to prove false, and substitute means to put one in the place of another!

I mean, he's not? much in looks, but he has that whole "poor, tortured me" persona that leads him to write the same WHINY EMO POETRY that is what this is all about, and to top it all off, he married some awful woman who only brought him more misery, so much he killed himself. He was looking for misery, and he found it. The only things he ever did creatively are piles of shit. He can't play guitar, he can't sing, and he sure as Hell can't write music.
By: joethulhuz. on 22 Jan 12, 20:22:54
Okay, I do need to apologize, I'd forgotten about Dave Grohl. Yeah, he's the only person with any talent in the whole band. His own band is far, far better than Nirvana ever was. Are you trying to call me a twelve year-old girl? That's just moronic. If either of us is a twelve year-old girl, it's you. You can't even capitalize half? the letters you should. And by the way... If you're saying all people like about Green Day is the singer's hair and eyeliner, what about Kurt Cobain?
By: joethulhuz. on 22 Jan 12, 00:26:57
The only reason I'm debating it as well is because of your above statement that "all GOOD music is? poetry set to power chords", which is itself incredibly naive - examples being instrumentals and music written WITHOUT power chords.
By: joethulhuz. on 22 Jan 12, 00:25:21
Yeah, I know a lot of people don't like Green Day because they're popular, and liked by lots of teenybopper 12 year-old girls.? I like them because they're good musicians... Something I could never say in good conscience about Kurt Cobain or anyone in Nirvana, which is my whole point. I'm not trying to change your opinion, so thanks for calling me naive for no reason. I'm simply stating mine. You seem to be trying to change mine by debating it.
By: HeartComedyDoll. on 21 Jan 12, 23:20:19
mm well i like the artists you've mentioned above...but greenday..heh.no comment.. unlike you i'm not naive enough to believe anything i write could possibly influence the music you choose to listen to. I belive Different music speaks to different people. And? you're clearly getting frustrated cause you're sounding awful preachy :)

Nirvana are NOT punk. I like punk. I like the Clash, the Ramones, Green Day, early Flaming Lips, etc. I hate Nirvana, because none of them have any musicianship about? them. Of course, the Ramones weren't great musicians either, but their music could at least be called that: MUSIC. Nirvana's can't. Because it's not. It's - here we go again - WHINY EMO POETRY SET TO POWER CHORDS. I am a fan of a lot of music. I'll like pretty much everything. That is, everything that's MUSIC.
By: joethulhuz. on 21 Jan 12, 18:00:55
What else would you call it? It's certainly not GOOD music. It's barely even MUSIC. Notice my? term isn't "whiny emo MUSIC" but "whiny emo POETRY", and bad ones at that.
By: HeartComedyDoll. on 21 Jan 12, 11:14:16
Maybe you have a generalised opinon of punk? It's a well known fact that Kurt was mainly creatively inspired by pop music and importantly the Beatles, an influence at that peiod that not many other punk rockers could truthfully admitt to. I'd be interested to know how much of their music you've heard, real lovers of music are open minded? people. but maybe your tastes revolve around one band in which case this is not a discussion about music and adieu.
By: HeartComedyDoll. on 21 Jan 12, 11:13:15
I love your term you so eloquently reapply to every one of? my comments "whiny emo music" did you invent it? Good use of repetition, you almost have me brainwashed. I find it amazing that you could be such a fan of the modern founders of music today and yet remain so obstinately narrow-minded as to other music genres directly influenced by them.
By: joethulhuz. on 15 Jan 12, 20:06:07
A hook and a guitar, you say? How strange it is, then, that I would hate that, being a huge fan of the Beatles and other music that isn't whiny emo poetry. And not very good whiny emo poetry at that. If you don't? know anything about emos, I would suggest you take a look at Kurt Cobain's face, and realize that you indeed do know a lot from listening to his music, if that term could possibly fit the noises that he emits from his face.
By: HeartComedyDoll. on 14 Jan 12, 18:40:52
oh ok. i see. i didn't realise i was being bracketed into a "kind" of person on how i interpret music, (do you work in marketing?) really how utterly idiotic? of me for having a varying opinion to you on that concrete topic of what "makes music". I suppose you hate anything with a hook and a guitar. I don't know anything about emos, hence i have no opinion, you brought it up.
By: joethulhuz. on 13 Jan 12, 22:25:46
Power chords don't make music. If that's what music is about to you, then you're exactly the kind of person I was talking about. Which you would be anyway for bringing up Nirvana. As for there being hundreds of millions of emos? Yes. There are. And you don't have to be emo to like whiny emo poetry. You just have to have bad taste. By? the way - there's a distinction between emo poetry and whiny emo poetry.
By: HeartComedyDoll. on 13 Jan 12, 21:33:03
all GOOD music is poetry set to power chords, and as for the easy if not unoriginal emo label you've conjured, it has a pretty poor? foundation considering their albums sold millions. must be hundreds of millions of emos huh
By: joethulhuz. on 10 Jan 12, 04:33:28
But Nirvana aren't? music, they're whiny emo poetry set to Kurt Cobain playing power chords.
By: Dreamer00. on 18 Oct 11, 19:16:07
