Campaigning in Egypt has finished ahead of the country's first presidential election since last year's revolution. There's now a 48-hour political silence before voting begins on Wednesday and the new president will be announced by the end of June. But, as Rawya Rageh reports from the town of Shubra El Kheima just north of Cairo, crime is rising and has become one of the main election issues.

Most Egyptians are so consumed with religious ideologies that may very well chock? their country. They focus more on the superficial rituals like washing elbows and feet before praying so many times a day and women covering head and face in public. They completely neglect the spiritual part, which deals with loving, caring and respecting each other.

MIXING? RELIGIOUS WITH POLITICS IS AS DIRTY AS IT GET. I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD SEPARATES RELIGIONS AND STATES.
By: John Doe. on 24 May 12, 01:37:42
Oh really? and what would atheism do for these poor souls besides tell them that their lives are shit and that once its over there's nothingness. Any religious person will tell you that they don't "hope" for an afterlife they just believe that one exists. A loving God lets humans determine their own lives and NOT intervene like an errand boy. What would be the point of freewill with a God like that? The only way to find out if there is an? afterlife is to die. I have nothing to lose either way.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers? as useful. - Seneca (ca. 4 BC --AD 65)
By: OppressedAnarchist. on 23 May 12, 18:06:21
Just because you "hope" something is true doesn't make it true. Being rich or poor isn't a relevant factor in determining if god does or does not exist. Understandably poor people? are more likely to believe there is a god because their lives are shit but that isn't evidence of god's existence. The fact that there are so many people in poverty should make someone question a loving god's existence even more....

All Religious People are Retards ...?
By: hoosierhiver. on 23 May 12, 17:53:52
In my personal experience, I've found that the people who publicly and? loudly claim to be very religious are often decievers and very crooked.

Smash religion before it is to late.? Seek truth justice love.
By: John Doe. on 23 May 12, 17:21:08
Great non answer. I guess you have NO proof and neither do I but what keeps me going is that their is something better than this life and that gives me hope to be a better person here and now. So don't say that your 100% sure there is no life after death because you just? might be wrong. Only death will settle this argument and I have nothing to lose unless their is an afterlife. Bye amigo.
By: pacloro. on 23 May 12, 17:13:33
question is where is your proof that there is life after death? why humans prefer? to live in a lie and feel good about it than accept the truth? humans are weak minded thats why they always try to feel like they are of an importance in this world and to be honest we are no much better than a ant. and btw i live in the dominican republic which is actually a poor country but even still at least i accept the fact that this is just one life enjoy it and dont be thinking that youll have a 2nd chance.

Atheism isn't, just look at Soviets, China, Albania and so on.?
By: John Doe. on 23 May 12, 16:46:13
Try living life to the fullest when you live in North Korea or if you live in a slum in India. Try telling all those poor ppl that this shit life they live is ALL there is and that their is NO afterlife. You only say these things because you probably live in a rich western country with opportunities. Live like a homeless? person in Africa for a day starving and hopeless and come back and tell us to live life to its fullest. Btw where is YOUR proof that there is no life after death?
By: pacloro. on 23 May 12, 16:29:25
what problem will a world without religion bring? we will stop to focus more on fairy tales and look for facts, science, the evolution of man in huge leaps in technology, people will stop thinking that theres life after death? and live this life to the fullest.
