Me neither. You'd? essentially be risking your life.
By: tricksterhuaun. on 25 May 12, 21:22:38
Yeah, but me at least? wouldn't risk it.
By: ChipArgyle. on 25 May 12, 20:54:27
That's right. It would be a mixed up world of only partial yet completely functional? consciousness and memory. Each person's life would consist only of the period between teleportations, with all previous memories intact, unless consciousness itself could be electronically transferred from one body to the next.
By: tricksterhuaun. on 25 May 12, 16:10:14
Yeah? but it wouldn't be us to live that life, but our copies, we would be dead by the first teleportation.
By: ChipArgyle. on 25 May 12, 09:14:47
I don't know if it would suck. It would definitely? be a lot more gooey. With teleportation, traffic jams would be nonexistent and we might get a handle on vehicle emission contribution to climate change. That wouldn't be all bad.

So you're saying that the guy was think about clonage because? he couldn't get laid?
By: tricksterhuaun. on 25 May 12, 00:29:51
Well, life? it would really suck huh?

By: Max Ankarloo. on 03 May 12, 10:28:44
Maybe the copy forgot (he only remembered entering booth 1 after all, since his memory was copied too), and then the girl lost track when they started walking around in circles. Of course, you're right about the game being pointless since the machine creates? flawless copies anyway. The reasonable thing to do is flip a coin...
By: Silverthumb. on 03 May 12, 09:03:31
It stands to reason that the one who came out of booth 1 is the original of the two.? So rather than argue, they simply should have said which booth they came from. There was never any reason for the game.

I saw this? two decades ago on Stay Tooned with Tony Robinson and my little mind was BLOWN. O Canada.
By: pentherapy. on 15 Apr 12, 20:55:51
There was a fair bit of strawmanning going on in this cartoon (for example, it assumed that the scientist in the "5 minutes" scenario would try to get out of it rather than? own up and commit suicide) but overall it represented a reasonably thorough exploration of the moral ramifications of murdering twinmaker teleporters. The last few minutes in particular were brilliant for just how deliberately fallacious the protagonist's thinking becomes.
By: steveasat2. on 15 Apr 12, 00:21:00
Then again, as we can see, some folks just coast through life on their? charm.
By: Tylerb7. on 14 Apr 12, 23:08:44
THEN IT'S A? FUCKING MANIFESTATION OF THE PHYSICAL BRAIN AND THEREFORE NOT A SUPERNATURAL SOUL, YOU FUCKTARD. GODDAMNIT.
By: Tylerb7. on 14 Apr 12, 23:06:41
That's absolutely fucking retarded and completely without scientific backing.? I seriously can't believe someone could be that goddamned stupid, holy shit.
By: MisterDoobs. on 08 Apr 12, 10:37:17
moral of the story: women who? can think are fucking jerks.
By: tricksterhuaun. on 01 Apr 12, 12:02:51
This animation shows something to think about.?
By: ChipArgyle. on 28 Mar 12, 08:59:42
Possible, but first we have to find that pesky soul in the first place. Nobody knows where in the human body it resides, if indeed it exists. And considering that living human? bodies have been diced and sliced in numerous ways through accident and surgery, at some point you'd think that a soul would have been removed from a living person. Religion says that can't be done. That means the soul is mobile and can instantly predict accidents and resist surgery. It's doesn't make sense to me.
By: Nanabobo. on 27 Mar 12, 18:41:19
Another option: There is such a thing as a soul, but it can be recreated in the same way as a brainwave.?

behold, the truth of? chaotic neutral
By: steveasat2. on 19 Mar 12, 14:30:30
Ah, but don't discount the role of neurochemistry in such introspection. I seem to recall that GABA does some funny things around 3 a.m. if you're on a normal sleep cycle and it thinks you're asleep while it's mopping up? all that melatonin. Somehow that translates into a very flexible state of mind. Maybe it's why we often wake up with solutions to problems we fell asleep worrying about.
By: Northwesterland. on 19 Mar 12, 12:08:00
This is a subject that I, like the narrator, find myself contemplating in the wee hours of the morning, and curiously almost never at any other time. The concept of one's own existence may be the logical underpinning to how we live our lives, but it is something nobody really bothers to reason out. Except, apparently, when you are alone in the dark with nothing but your own thoughts to keep you company in bed. This? line of introspection seems spurred by loneliness as much as thoughtfulness.
