When I was a kid, I made catapults, a model of the "Monitor", WWI biplanes, a tank, cannons; all kinds of things; w/ just a coping saw, a rasp, a couple of rat-tail files, an egg-beater drill, a hammer, some sand paper & a big machinist's vice. The rasp is a? tool that isn't appreciated enough. Get a Farrier's rasp, they really eat wood. If I knew about them then, I'd have made a turning saw for cutting thicker pieces of wood than a coping saw can handle.
