By: dportass. on 24 Jan 12, 21:26:55 it is an? ink, not a powder, because the ink is UV cured by a mercury lamp on the printer head itself which fixes and dries the ink almost instantly there is no need for solvents or anything else meaning prints from this machine are long last and more environmentally friendly. Also because there is no solvent the ink heads don't jam and don't need to be cleaned, it is more expensive to run but colour density and image quality are significantly better than normal wide format printers,

By: dportass. on 20 Jan 12, 18:46:29 The Océ Arizona 350GT (which is the model in my office, not sure about theirs) has variable droplet sizes from 6 to 42 picoliters so prints of 1,440 DPI are possible. Text at 6pt is perfectly readable. In quality mode it will print 15.2 square meters an hour and being UV ink is? dry to touch as soon as the UV lamp has finished its path, weather resistant and very long lasting with minimal colour and definition fall off

Always enjoy putting my prints through it :) We've even printed on doors as you say, paper, canvas (on frame or on roller) steel, glass, acrylic, mdf, tiles and our show piece is an electric guitar we took apart and printed on.... And it prints WHITE ink too!! :)
