I created my own string art in 9th grade art class in 1975 to satisfy at "3-D art requirement" that I had failed with clay -- dirty, messy clay. It got me an "A" at a time when I was messed up and my art teacher hated me. ? Thank god for string art. The 70s sucked. by the way, and I survived them, thanks in part to string art. I was really a math and science kid, only taking art so I didn't have to take gym with the neanderthals. I had just developed OCD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

When? I was in middle school we had to take Home Eco. every year for nine weeks. I always looked forward to string art. Ours wasn't as big or on wood. Just a print out with the numbers on it, a piece of black card stock, a plastic needle and embroidery floss. ?'s to the sound the floss would make going through the card stock.
